Thank You Educators
Dear Educators,
I see you and I thank you for your dedication. Being an educator goes beyond teaching curriculum, beyond gathering data, and beyond the basic job description. An educator sees life in its entirety as a learning opportunity.
We see the potential in each face we greet. We see kids of all backgrounds, family situations, and capabilities. We see the triumphs and the struggles. We view education not just as an accumulation of subjects but as an opportunity to cultivate the lives of unique individuals.
We educate so that students may flourish both in their youth and as adults. We recognize the beauty of differences and do our best to pour into the distinct characteristics and talents of the students placed in our care. We encourage, guide, nurture, protect, and listen.
Thank you for showing up, for the kids, and for your fellow educators. Thank you for showing up regardless of whether your "bucket" is full or empty. While this might sound strange, thank you for the days you took off from work and acknowledged the importance of caring for yourself and your family. You show that we are only human and while we love our students, we are also parents, children, siblings, and caregivers first.
If you know a teacher, thank them, hug them, bless them with a coffee.
With love, thoughts, and prayers,
A Fellow Educator
